From Egypt to the World: Mohammed’s Aviation Vision

Happy Wednesday, Triblings

Did You Know?

Back in 1910, Heliopolis in Cairo became home to one of Africa’s first airfields, making Egypt part of aviation history. Today, the country is still a major hub, linking Africa to the rest of the world.

Just a few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of interviewing Mr. Mohammed, a mechanical engineer from Egypt, who is making waves in aviation by building communities and empowering professionals across the world.

In this edition, we’re also shining a light on one of our African Gems, a book titled TAFRO Fact and Quotes.

Let’s dive right in!

TAFRO Feature – African Trailblazer: Mohamed Khedr

Mohamed Khedr is a mechanical engineer from Egypt. He was born in a village called Shatanof and now lives in Cairo. With over 24 years in aviation, he has seen the need to guide others.

In 2023, he started Aviation Hub as a small online group for people in aviation to share advice. It quickly grew and now offers training, consulting, and mentorship. Members come from Africa and beyond, including even government aviation groups.

Mohamed was inspired after receiving many LinkedIn messages from people asking about careers in aviation. He also wanted to give Africans a space to connect, learn, and showcase their skills globally.

He believes in the power of community. A teacher once told him: A successful person is like a building. Every person who adds a stone helps build it. He saw this when a female member of Aviation Hub from Asia won an award with the Hub’s support.

For him, legacy means small but lasting steps. He hopes to build on Africa’s history and leave behind teamwork, continuity, and opportunities for the next generation
