Let’s Lead Africa: Building a Legacy That Outlives One Lifetime

Happy Wednesday, Tribling!

This week, we’re spotlighting Mr. Seidu Sawadogo, a community leader and the founder of Let’s Lead Africa.

His story isn’t about overnight success. It’s about hard work, staying hungry to grow, and building something real for the next generation. From shining shoes at 11 to earning his masters at 46, Sawadogo proves that growth doesn’t follow a timeline; it follows commitment.

In our Product Spotlight, we’re highlighting Tales and Tidbits of Africa, a colorful and easy-to-read book a colorful and easy read packed with stories, legends, and fun facts from all 54 African countries.

Let’s get into it.

TAFRO Feature: African Trailblazer– Seidu Sawadogo

Mr. Sawadogo grew up with a strong desire to learn and grow. At just 11 years old, he started working small jobs like selling water and shining shoes to support himself. In 2022, he officially launched Let’s Lead Africa, an organization that helps young people build real skills, learn entrepreneurship, and prepare for leadership. But his work started long before that. For years, he supported youth through politics, business, and mentorship.

After receiving training in India, Mr. Sawadogo saw how small businesses create jobs and support communities. That experience opened his eyes and confirmed that Africa needs more people building, not just job-seeking.

One of his biggest personal lessons came later in life, when he earned his degree at 44 and his master’s at 46. This taught him that growth has no age limit. And while African society often values certificates, he believes practical skills are just as important.

For Mr. Sawadogo, being African is both a strength and a responsibility. He believes there are many opportunities on the continent, but few people see or take them. His mission is to help change that.

When asked about the legacy he wants to leave behind, Mr. Sawadogo said he hopes African entrepreneurs will build strong businesses that last, built on our culture, with discipline, and made to grow across generations.
